Description
Harry is 87 and lives on his own. Up until recently he was very active but now finds it difficult to leave the house on his own. He has now been told that he is experiencing mental health issues due to loneliness and a lack of social interaction. He used to be a keen gardener and walker and misses the outdoors.
Could you help Harry to feel less lonely?
Do you have a few hours a week available to befriend Harry?
You could either visit Harry at his home or take him out.
He would love to be able to take a drive through the peak district or go and sit at Monsal Head with a flask of tea.
Please help if you can as a few hours per week could make a real difference to Harry's life.

There are many people like Harry who are feeling isolated and lonely and in need of a friend.

If you are interested in befriending someone like Harry and want to know more about becoming a volunteer befriender then please get in contact.

Support and training given by Age UK, and the chance to meet other volunteers.
